Who are we hiring?
The Stage Manager acts as the central point of communication and coordination between production departments and ensures the timely and safe execution of live events. Stage Managers are required to verbally execute the physical production elements (lighting, scenic, fly moves, talent moves) to the Stage Crew as designed in sequential order for the performance at hand.
Radio City Stage Managers are responsible for communicating to the Crew the use of the (4) stage elevators as needed per a production. Stage Managers have the responsibility to conduct and direct all moves and maintain a safety system comprised of communication with the local Crew and production.
Events requiring Stage Managers range from concerts to graduation ceremonies, live television productions, award shows, corporate events, and the Christmas Spectacular Starring the Radio City Rockettes. Occasionally, Stage Managers will be required to work at off-site facilities such as rehearsal spaces and talent appearances at various venues. These events are staffed at the discretion of Radio City Production in alignment with the collective bargaining agreement between the American Guild of Variety Artists (AGVA) and Radio City.
When required, Stage Managers are also responsible for running rehearsals in collaboration with the Director and creative/production team members (i.e. Christmas Spectacular).
