Job Description:
Under the supervision of the Director of the International Careers and Alumni Affairs, this role will be part of the career services and alumni affairs team. The International Career Center (ICC) advances student success by providing a robust Berklee network, advanced career resources, mentoring programs, and enriching practice-based and experiential opportunities that help students develop an entrepreneurial mindset as they define, develop, and realize their artistic, creative, and career potential with greater intention and success. Additionally, the ICC focuses on overall engagement with employers interested in Berklee talent, as well as interaction with the alumni community.
The Senior Career Advisor will support planning, communications, and logistics for signature events such as the Berklee Global Career Summit as well as multiple career-focused events throughout the academic year. The Senior Career Advisor will contribute to the daily administration of the Berklee Career Manager job, internship, and gig board, as well as provide individual career advice to the cohort of students, including both undergrads studying abroad and master’s degree students with a broad range of career and geographical interests.
Within this context, the Senior Career Advisor will have the following responsibilities:
Provide career guidance and support to Berklee students through advising and coaching sessions
Play a key role in the annual program planning process, which includes but is not limited to event planning, marketing, and logistics for career-related programming of workshops, events, industry days, etc.
Contribute to employer engagement to increase the number and quality of career opportunities for Berklee students
Contribute to a strong and engaging alumni community
Represent the ICC to alumni, students, and companies as necessary
Administer the Berklee Career Manager, the CRM platform where employers post jobs, gigs, and internships, and students schedule their advising appointments
Document and elaborate reports on the activities mentioned above to track the level of satisfaction and progress of students, companies, and other stakeholders
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in career advising, coaching, or human resources with a focus on recruiting or alumni relations
Minimum 3-5 years of student services-related experience (i.e., outreach, recruitment, events, public relations, education, or music business)
Familiarity with the music business, performing arts, composition, and music technology
Demonstrated ability to handle stressful, delicate matters in a professional, discreet, and mature manner
Education: Graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music, Art, Social Sciences, Business Administration, Human Resources or Sales, and Marketing
Excellent communication skills (speaking and writing) in English
