Role Description:
The Music Copyright Administrator is responsible for resolving UGC platform catalog ownership conflicts between Orfium clients and 3rd parties. This includes researching the details of the conflict, regularly coordinating outreach between clients and 3rd parties and taking any necessary resolution actions to settle the catalog ownership conflicts. Accurate tracking of actions taken and all communication is essential. This position reports into the Catalog Management for Publishers Supervisor, Conflict Resolution (“CMPub Supervisor”) and includes any ad hoc tasks delegated from the CMPub Supervisor. This position requires a thorough understanding of music publishing and copyright, a data driven analytical mindset and extreme attention to detail.

Hourly rate: $27/hour.

Responsibilities
  • Resolving, escalating (when applicable), and properly annotating conflicts in any assigned applications or databases provided by the CMPub Supervisor, efficiently and accurately.
  • Taking the necessary actions in YouTube’s Content Management System including publisher ownership collection share removals and publisher ownership collection share adjustments as necessary to resolve the conflict.
  • Escalating genuine and/or conflicts without discoverable verification information when necessary.
  • Identifying prominent bad actors on YouTube by performing data analysis and communicating findings to leadership.
  • Research and stay up to date on major catalog acquisitions to prepare for ownership transfers to our clients.Proactively communicate ideas, insights, and issues to the CMPub Supervisor.
  • Tracking all actions and communication required for billing and data collection purposes.
  • Monitoring one’s own performance and thinking critically on ways to improve as an employee.
  • Taking action on constructive feedback provided by the CMPub Supervisor.
  • Maintain documentation of tasks, product training, required annotation, and workflows and communicate any ideas for improving Orfium’s existing documentation to Catalog Management Supervisor, Conflict Resolution.
  • Other duties assigned by the Catalog Management Supervisor, Conflict Resolution.

Qualifications
  • 1-2 years experience working for a Music Publisher or PRO.
  • Solid understanding of music publishing and copyright industry practices.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; extremely detail-oriented.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills and the ability to manage large lets of data
  • Ability to prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Ability to function well in an evolving, fast-paced and deadline driven environment.
  • High self-initiative with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to the changing needs of the company and our customers.
  • Advanced computer literacy (i.e. Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Chrome, YouTube CMS, new platforms, etc.)
  • Analytical, data driven mindset.
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Preferred BA or BS degree from an accredited college or university.
