Audio Engineer, Speech / TTS, Brazilian Portuguese (Remote, Contract, AI training) — Mercor via AI Gig Scout

Mercor is looking for audio engineers with strong experience editing and quality-checking voice recordings for speech and text-to-speech (TTS) applications, specifically Brazilian Portuguese audio. This is remote contractor work paying $20–$30/hr, preparing high-quality audio datasets for machine learning systems. Native or near-native Brazilian Portuguese is required. You will edit and process Brazilian Portuguese voice recordings for TTS and speech AI; do audio cleanup (silence trimming, breath reduction, de-clicking, de-essing, noise reduction); run QA checks for clipping and distortion, background noise and artifacts, and loudness consistency; make sure audio meets strict technical specifications for ML training pipelines; and evaluate pronunciation accuracy, naturalness and fluency across large batches of recordings. 

Requirements: native or near-native Brazilian Portuguese with strong listening intuition; experience editing speech or voice recordings (not just music production); a strong grasp of speech audio quality standards; hands-on experience with iZotope RX, Pro Tools or similar audio restoration software; experience with high-volume audio datasets or structured workflows. Preferred: TTS vendors or platforms, speech ML or voice AI dataset work, audio QA pipelines, and directing or editing Brazilian Portuguese voice talent.
